CSR Marketplace in Turkey before 19th November, CSR Marketplace in Ukraine

Have just returned from CSR Marketplace in Turkey which accidently and fortunately (:)) coincided with my birthday. Was extremely interesting event, within which 21 Turkish companies, among which were Vodaphone, Avea, Shell, Coca Cola, TEB Bank, etc, presented their CSR projects. Was impressed with companies' 5 years programs on CSR. And imagine, company has been implementing CSR program for 5 years. The winner was Vodaphone. To my opinion, it was mostly charitable project but at CSR Marketplace always the company wins which can present its project. Vodaphone team was capable in presentation. It was really great.
On 19th November first CSR marketplace will be in Ukraine. Now we try to register companies - but it's so difficult, companies or people in them do not want to take extra efforts to promote their companies. So will see which company in Ukraien is doing the most for society on 19th November

Role of HR in sustainable development of the company

HR professionals from leading companies in Ukraine met this week to discuss first chapter of the guide "Role HR in the sustainable development of the company". The project is implemented by the Centre for CSR Development under support of the JTI copany. This is a unique initiative in Ukraine because of different reasons:
1. first time CSR Centre raised the issue of the role of HR department in CSR;
2. first time we united companies-leaders for developing guide for other companies;
3. first time we united HR-directors.
The meeting was devoted to developing mission, vision and values of the company, engaging employees in this process and communicating them to employess. The questions which really heated discussions were:
- do we need to engage all employees in developing of company values, mision and vision?
- have corporate values something to do with personal values of an individual?
- is there  a big gap between new Ukrainian companires in Ukraine and old big enterprises from Soviet time?
- what profile of readers will be of this guide?
Updates of the process you could see at this web-site later. We are planning to finalize the Guide by December, but in the meatime 3 other meetings are planned.
